Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary:

We're seeking skilled individuals to join our team as Heavy Equipment Operators. In this role, you'll be responsible for the operation of a variety of heavy machinery, handling tasks such as excavation, grading; and trenching for storm sewer infrastructure. We value proactive team members who can maintain clean work environments and effectively interpret civil blueprints.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, track loaders, excavators, dozers, motor graders, and haul trucks.
• Execute tasks such as digging, grading, loading, and material movement proficiently using heavy equipment.
• Dig trenches to install storm sewer pipes.
• Interpret grade stakes and utilize GPS rover technology.
• Differentiate between topsoil and fill dirt accurately.
• Haul equipment to and from job sites.
• Clean and restore work areas.
• Routinely wash vehicles and equipment.
• Report equipment maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.
• Safely work around live utilities.

Requirements:

·         Prior experience operating heavy equipment (Note: Forklift experience does not qualify)

·         Capable of lifting objects weighing over 75 lbs.

·         Flexibility to work occasional weekends as needed.

·         Willingness to undergo random drug testing.

·         Possession of a valid driver's license.

·         Ability and willingness to work in various weather conditions.

Preferred:

·         Familiarity with reading and interpreting civil engineering drawings.

·         Proficiency in calculating grades.
